— Online Merker, Lucerne

A multi-disciplinarian with a love for storytelling, Gabriella’s music-making has a keen sense of image, character and emotion, which make for expressive and evocative performances. In her spare time she enjoys writing, walking, chess, and exploring music from a wide range of genres. She lives in London, with her husband.

She was born in England in 1993, and trained from an early age as a violinist. She studied her undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge in philosophy and archaeology, where she also remained active as a musician. She then pursued her postgraduate musical studies in violin and conducting at the Royal College of Music, followed by the St Petersburg State Conservatory. Directly after this, she became a long-term assistant conductor with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (2017-2021).

She quickly began to be engaged internationally in an impressive range of musical engagements, and has now conducted the music of over one hundred and twenty composers, embracing the concert hall, opera, ballet, contemporary and more, in the UK performing at venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, Wigmore Hall, and on the BBC.
